JOB TITLE:
Assistant Professor, Management (Hospitality Management)
JOB PURPOSE/ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Department of Management and Marketing in the College of Business at the University of Wyoming invites applications for an assistant-level, full-time and tenure-track position in Strategic or Operations Management with an emphasis in Hospitality Management, beginning Spring or Fall 2024. The department is launching a Hospitality Management Track of its management degree and seeks applicants whose professional pedigree align them with traditional strategic or operations management faculty who will also contribute to the Hospitality Management Track. Review of applications begins immediately, and the position will remain open until filled. The department seeks candidates who can contribute in meaningful ways across all three pillars of academia (i.e., research, teaching, and service). The person who fills the open position must demonstrate a passion for innovative, experiential-oriented teaching and, thus, be able to contribute to the strong teaching reputation of the department's faculty. They will help students find relevance and interest in course material, leading to student mastery. The standard teaching load in the college for research-active faculty is 2/2. Further, this professor will be expected to conduct high-quality peer-reviewed research resulting in publication in leading journals, in addition to other high-quality scholarly work, and, thus, contribute to the growing research culture of the department. They will also show a propensity for practical translation of their research, helping university stakeholders see value in college research. The department will annually provide competitive funding and the college offers summer funding opportunities and research grants to support research. Finally, this professor will be expected to serve as a program lead for the new Hospitality Management Track of the Management Major. As such, the ideal candidate is a well-rounded academic who has an interest in helping the college build a strong regional reputation.

The College of Business
The University of Wyoming College of Business (http://www.uwyo.edu/business/) is AACSB accredited and is located in a state-of-the-art, Leeds-certified building. The College currently offers undergraduate degrees in management, marketing, professional sales, accounting, entrepreneurship, economics and finance. The College offers Master of Business Administration degrees, master's degrees in accounting, economics, and finance, and Ph.D. degrees in marketing and economics. It is one of 10 member schools of the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative College Program. The Management & Marketing Department
The Department of Management and Marketing comprises faculty of management, marketing, entrepreneurship, sales, decision sciences, business ethics, and business law. The Management Faculty have published in high-quality journals such as the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Management, Leadership Quarterly, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Business Ethics, Strategic Management Journal, Entrepreneurship, Theory, and Practice, Human Resource Management Journal, Journal of World Business, and Organization Science. Importantly, the faculty have a reputation as innovative teachers who work with external partners to create real-world project opportunities for students. Finally, the faculty have an expectation of collegiality and partnership.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
By Spring or Fall 2024, candidates should hold a Ph.D. in management (Strategy or Operations) or a closely related discipline and a professional record demonstrating competencies for service industry or hospitality management academic work. Interested candidates who are ABD must have completed their dissertation on or before August 22, 2023. Candidates for the position should demonstrate potential for innovative teaching, a strong research program, and innovative program building relative to the described position. Candidates must be able to teach in traditional face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats to diverse populations of students. Finally, candidates must show a propensity for collegiality.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A demonstrated record of research publication in high-quality journals such as those listed on the Financial Times 50 and the Association of Business School's journal lists. Evidence of on-going high-quality research publication potential. An excellent teaching record with evidence of innovative, experiential-oriented methods. A strong service record including evidence of the ability to advise student organizations and effectively contribute to college strategic initiatives. Two or more years of professional work experience in the service or hospitality industries.
