Jim --
Below is a notice of a new opportunity at Marquette. We have successfully filled the first one. You can remove that notice. Please let me know if there are questions/issues.
Kind regards,
Doug
The Operations & Supply Chain Management (OSCM) program at Marquette is recruiting for an assistant professor position to begin Fall, 2013. Below are some key considerations for this position:
1) A strong student focus - excellent in the classroom, and someone who enjoys student interaction;
2) A strong 'practitioner' focus -- someone who enjoys working with professionals in the supply chain industry;
3) A demonstrated record or strong potential for empirical research published in academic journals;
4) An interest in, and the capability to teach at the Executive MBA level, and in Corporate and Executive Education is desirable, but not required.
While we are interested in a well-rounded candidate, areas of expertise/interest which would complement our program include: manufacturing management, procurement/’sourcing, and supply chain technology.
We are seeking candidates who are interested in contributing to our progress toward national ranking (currently Gartner (14) and US News & World Report (16)). It is noteworthy that the largest concentration of manufacturers in the United States is within 90 miles of Milwaukee. Milwaukee also has a strong and growing services sector (financial, consulting, health care, software, ...). For those interested in retail, Kohls and The Bon-Ton Stores are headquartered here, with Target not far away in Minnesota. And, Milwaukee is a very livable city—a great city on a Great Lake.
We have a strong and engaged Advisory Board (Harley-Davidson, MillerCoors, Kohler, GE Healthcare, Red Prairie, Milwaukee Electric Tool, Johnson Controls, Rockwell-Automation, Manpower Group, Joy Global/P&H Mining, Direct Supply, ... and many more of national and local stature). We have ~150 OSCM undergraduate majors -- and the number is growing. We place 90%+ of our graduates, and 80%+ of our students have at least one internship prior to graduation. We prioritize "applied learning". The program is active in the practicing community. We have the full support of the Provost, the Dean and the Department Chair.
For the right candidate, we will be competitive with compensation.
We will attend the CSCMP Educator’s Conference in Atlanta (September 30, 2012) for initial interviews. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to talk further.
Kind regards,
Doug Fisher
