The Smeal College of Business invites applications for a clinical faculty position in Supply Chain Management, available in spring or fall 2011. The appointment is renewable every three years based on teaching and service performance. Salary and rank (Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) are negotiable.
Job responsibilities include teaching, advising, and mentoring supply chain management students. This is an ideal appointment for a person who wishes to concentrate on teaching and has strong interests in activities such as advising and mentoring students, coordinating department events for students, and serving as department emissary to various campus events. The individual appointed will primarily teach undergraduate courses.
Qualified applicants will have strong teaching capabilities in the supply chain management area, relevant industry experience, and a desire to support industry outreach initiatives. We are especially interested in candidates with teaching interests in one or more of the following areas: introductory supply chain management, strategic purchasing, and transportation/distribution. A Ph.D. is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate would have superior teaching capabilities, excellent references, and directly related business experience.
The Department of Supply Chain & Information Systems is consistently ranked among the top programs of its kind in the U.S. Outreach to the business community in tandem with Smeal's Center for Supply Chain Research and its Executive Management Programs unit is a key success factor. The individual chosen will join a vibrant professional atmosphere.
