university serving Arkansas and the world. The University of Arkansas has approximately
21,000 students and the Walton College has over 3,500 students. The Department of Marketing
and Logistics has 15 terminally qualified faculty and 2 fulltime instructors. Approximately 200
students receive their bachelors’ degree with majors in either marketing or
transportation/logistics each year.

The city of Fayetteville is located in the northwest corner of the state. It is a city of
approximately 70,000 with a regional population of approximately 400,000. The region boasts
one of the highest growth rates and is consistently listed among the most desirable places to live
in the U.S. A number of Fortune 500 companies are headquartered in Northwest Arkansas,
including Wal-Mart, Tyson Foods, and J.B. Hunt.
