TENURE TRACK POSITION - PENN STATE
The Smeal College of Business invites applications for a tenure-track position
in Supply Chain Management, available in August 2007. The primary selection
criteria are outstanding research potential, excellent teaching capabilities,
and strong recommendations. Applicants should have a doctorate (granted or
nearly completed), a thorough knowledge of supply chain theory and practice,
strong analytic skills, and a commitment to applied research. Applicants with
an interdisciplinary approach to research and teaching interests in strategic
procurement or managing information technology in supply chains are encouraged
to apply. Teaching strengths should be directed toward all levels, which
include M.B.A., M.S., Ph.D. and B.S. degree programs. Faculty rank is open
depending on qualifications.
Department representatives will attend the CSCMP meeting in San Antonio, TX,
October 15-17, 2006 and the INFORMS meeting in Pittsburgh, PA, November 5-8,
2006. We plan to conduct preliminary interviews. Applicants who wish to be
considered for preliminary interviews should email a copy of their resumes, a
brief summary of research, and the title, date, and time of any presentations
before October 9. Applicants sending in a complete application before this date
only need to email their presentation information. Applicants who are not
involved with the preliminary interviews will still be considered for the
position opening.
Application Procedure: Please send a letter of application containing a clear
statement of specific research and teaching interests, a resume, graduate
transcripts, and three letters of reference to:

and professional work experience. Although applications will be considered
until the position is filled, preference will be given to applications received
by October 31, 2006. For further information, please contact Dr. John E.
