The Department of Marketing and Logistics (DML) at the University of North Texas invites applications and nominations to fill a tenure-track position in logistics at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank beginning Fall 2007. Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Logistics or other closely related areas. Evidence of a commitment to research, in the form of a strong record of publications in premier journals, is required. Evidence of teaching effectiveness at the undergraduate and graduate level is required. Teaching at satellite locations in the Dallas-Ft. Worth (DFW) Metroplex and possibly via distance education technology may be required. Interest in enhancing the academic and business reputation of the marketing program is also expected.
DML offers the degree programs in marketing and logistics (undergraduate, masters, PhD.) and has a close association with the business community. The Department also houses the Center for Logistics Education and Research, one of the nation’s outstanding logistics centers. The Department itself consists of 17 full-time faculty members and numerous Lecturers and Adjunct Instructors.
The Department is part of the College of Business Administration (a Category I AACSB accredited institution). The College and the Department each offer degrees at the Undergraduate, Masters (MBA and MS), and Doctoral levels. The College also houses the Murphy Enterprise Center, the Center for Quality and Productivity, the Information Systems Research Center, and a newly approved Center for NAFTA Studies. The College offers an excellent environment for interdisciplinary research with faculty with different research interests.
The University of North Texas is a major state supported university with an enrollment in excess of 31,000 students, and has several satellite campus locations within the DFW Metroplex. The Metroplex is home to more than 250 major corporate headquarters, and offers a thriving and vibrant community – economically, socially, and culturally.
