           Assistant or Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management
              Department of Marketing, Whitman School of Management

SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY, Martin J. Whitman School of Management is seeking
applications for a tenure-track position in Supply Chain Management at the
Assistant or Associate level, starting in fall, 2007.  Candidates should
possess a Ph.D. by the time of appointment, have a strong demonstrated ability
for scholarly research and for effective teaching at both the undergraduate and
graduate levels, and also have the promise of becoming an outstanding researcher
and teacher.  Supply chain management has two endowed research centers and is
one of three programs that are located within the marketing department; the
other two are marketing management and retail management.  An ideal candidate
will provide research and/or teaching synergies in one or both of these areas.

The introductory undergraduate and graduate SCM courses span such topics as
demand management, supply management, inventory management, capacity
management, production management, transportation management, distribution
center management, and supply chain strategy. Advanced courses expand on these
topics, and address other areas such as spreadsheet modeling, supply chain and
logistics systems, project management, and import/export law. Candidates are
expected to be able to teach the introductory undergraduate and graduate SCM
courses, and one or more advanced courses.
