National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) Foundation
                    REQUEST FOR RESEARCH PROPOSALS

Dear NDTA Friend and Educator,

The NDTA established a Foundation for education, research, and studies related
to logistics & transportation in 1949. Traditionally we have awarded academic
scholarships to deserving students-and we will continue to do so. However,
during the last year the NDTA VP for our Foundation has been working with a
group of volunteers to increase the funds available in the Foundation and to
expand funding opportunities to include small academic research or study
projects.

As a result, we are now soliciting research proposals for funding consideration.
If you are interested in submitting a research proposal for consideration, a
RFP inviting you to submit along with other informational materials will be
sent to you via e-mail. This is a great potential opportunity to enhance your
research efforts through the use of funding by NDTA's Foundation.

If interested in obtaining additional information, receiving a copy of the RFP,
or submitting a research proposal, please contact:

Mark Victorson, Executive Assistant, NDTA
National Defense Transportation Association
50 South Picket Street, Suite 220
Alexandria, VA 22304-7296
Phone: (703) 751-5011
FAX: (703) 823-8761
Email: mark at ndtahq.com

If there is a research effort you are interested in having considered for
funding, please respond by complying with the contents of the RFP and
submitting your completed proposal no later than September 15, 2006. All
submissions are to be directed to the contact person indicated above. The
project selected will be announced at the annual Forum in Memphis, TN 25-27
September 2006.

Thank you for your support and involvement in NDTA, we look forward to receiving
your research proposal and hopefully seeing you in Memphis for our annual Forum.

Sincerely,

Kenneth R. Wykle
