Holiday Swing Dance, Lobdell, lesson 7:30

At 7:30 before the dance, Joy and Hsiu will teach a swing lesson: "The date is 12/12/2012, it is the triple twelve, so the lesson will be three sequences that you can chain together and impress your co-workers at your Christmas Party.  This will be East Coast Swing only, no 8 count swing out knowledge required."

Hsiu (pronounced Sho) Chang has been dancing since 2003.  He started in Raleigh, NC with West Coast Swing.  He has been to numerous workshops including Swingout New Hampshire, Beantown, Southwest Lindy Festival, and Frankie 95. At these events, he has always thought the best dancing comes out late at night when the DJ would play pop songs and dance hits, and the teachers would just improvise and have fun.

Music has always been a significant part of Joy's life growing up, but she didn't start swing dancing until about two years ago, at which point in time she just absorbed East Coast Swing and Lindy Hop like a sponge absorbs water. She enjoys learning new things and sharing her passion for swing dancing!

Thursday, December 27: Blues dance, DJs Sarah Rund and ???,
     La Sala de Puerto Rico.  If you would like to DJ for 
     this dance, please let me know!

Wednesday, January 2: HELP WANTED!  If you are an MIT 
     student willing to help run this dance,
     please let me know!  (Ken is out of town.)

Wednesdays, January 9, 16, 23, 30: Our IAP lesson series this year will be BLUES DANCE, taught by Stephen and partner.
