David,
You make a good point. However, you are making assumptions that I am
not willing to make as I warn residents about the worst-case scenario
of water shut-off. You are assuming that the first valve we buy will
be the correct size and type, will work properly, will fit in the
space we have to work with, and will remain 100% water tight during
the entire coating replacement and drying time. Please just have some
faith that we will do everything we can to minimize the water service
downtime, while making sure the project gets done right the first time
and the contractor is out of there as fast as possible.

restored.
