Over 170 professionals and students from Massachusetts and other states are
expected at the Arab-American Science and Technology awards banquet at the Omni
Parker House Hotel, Boston, Massachusetts, on April 22nd, 2006. Now in its 3rd
year and already a highlight of the year for the Boston Arab community, the
annual awards banquet is entirely planned and executed by the members of the
MIT Arab Students' Organization. The past award banquets have received
unanimous praise as well as extensive regional, national and international
media coverage. This year's edition promises to be no different, with a
prestigious line-up of VIPs, including HRH Prince Turki Al Faisal, Saudi
Ambassador to the US, having already confirmed their participation.

Al-Madhi, President of the MIT Arab Students' Organization. "The event
epitomizes our organization's leadership position amongst student groups and is
a great source of pride for us. We are honoring a man with an illustrious career
in the field of science and technology. We are also attracting an elite audience
from the academic, professional and diplomatic arenas."

The winner of this year's lifetime achievement award is Dr. Charles Elachi, Head

of Technology. Dr. Elachi's impressive track record in the physics of Remote
Sensing and Space Exploration has won him the admiration of the MIT Arab
students and faculty. His keynote speech will be the highlight of the evening.
The other award winners are Dr. Hisham Kassab in the Young Professional category
as well as Mr. Ahmed Ghazi and Mr. Amjad Afanah in the Student category.

"This banquet brings together students and professionals in the Arab community
