[Gsc-oc-firstyear] Orientation Events for Friday, September 3

[GSC Orientation]

Good evening first years!

Today was filled with some exciting events: the Welcome Address and Lunch 
were huge successes, people attending the Camera Safari really enjoyed 
their trips, and the TechLink banquet was a blast!!
Tomorrow we have planned:

Friday, September 3
8:30am - 12:45pm    TA Orientation Workshop [Room 54-100]
1:30pm - 4:30pm      Wellness Fair and Crime Prevention [Kresge Oval]
4pm - 7pm               Activities Midway [Johnson Athletic Center] (The 
Association of Student Activities brings all student organizations 
together: go and learn about them!)
5pm - 7pm               Edgerton Luau [Edgerton Courtyard] (Come enjoy a 
Luau-themed bbq)
6pm - 9pm               Women's Group Mixer [20 Chimneys, Student Center] 
(Come learn about the different grad womens' organizations)
8pm - 1am               Orientation Party: Dance Fusion III [Ashdown] (THE 
orientation party!!!!!!)

First Night Out on the Town:
The Orientation is holding its first Night Out on the Town next Monday 
September 6: we will be leading groups to Jillians (pool, bowling and 
dancing), and to club Axis for a gay-friendly night. Reduced cover for Axis 
on MIT's guest list is $5 (please sign up in advance before Monday 1pm by 
sending an email to nite at mit.edu). See you there!!

Tickets and Welcome packets:
You can still purchase tickets and get your free welcome packet and t-shirt 
tomorrow 9:30am, in the GSC office (50-220) in Walker Memorial.

Hiking Trip REMINDER:
If you are holding a hiking trip ticket and have not yet registered, please 
do so now:  http://csail.mit.edu/~gremio/hiking/. It only takes a minute, 
and we need it to be able to assign your route.
