*Email Parsing Competition*

In this competition you will develop technology to extract specific
information from lecture annoucement emails. We will be collecting
emails from MIT department mailing lists in a variety of formats, and
your challenge will be to extract the structured information like date,
location, and speaker. This is a hard problem in algorithm design and
machine learning, tried by the likes of Google and Apple in the past.
The technology you develop will be used to provide a centralized and
comprehensive interface to all academia and research related events at
the Institute which we expect will be become an ubiquitous tool for
students, faculty, and staff in the years to come.

There will be prizes of $500 for the top contestant and $250 for the
runner-up. Take this challenge to contribute to a better MIT!

Email gsc-arc at mit.edu for more information!
