Linking error with the lib

Hi,

VC++ 6, Win 95.

I would like to now what should I change in my configuration to 
remove this error:

LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file "..\galib-
2.4.4\projects\library\Debug\galib.lib"

I know that I can remove the error if I place the lib under the above 
path. However, I'd ike to know why the compiler is looking for this 
particular path. is it writen in a given file?
