The Easy Way to Develop a Strategic Marketing Communications Plan
(webinar)
Thursday, March 26
2-3:30 p.m.
Building N42 Demo Center
Sponsored by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education
(CASE); hosted by PSB
Overview: A strategic marketing communications plan does not have to
be a labor intensive, 300-page long project that is solely your
responsibility... and it does not ultimately have to end up in a
binder on a shelf never to be looked at again. Now you can learn the
easy way to develop a strategic marketing communications plan by
setting realistic, measurable goals and identifying strategies that
will win you institution-wide support and buy in.
Join us for this session that will share a step-by-step approach to
developing a strategic marketing plan. Sample documents from an actual
college communications plan that utilized this successful approach
will be shared. Although this session is applicable to institutions of
all sizes, community colleges and small colleges alike will find the
information very valuable to navigate internal politics and marketing
subjectivity.
Presented by Susan Kirtland, president of Propeller Communications.

WebPub presents Neal Kane, Writing for the Web (in person)
Thursday, March 26
12 -1 p.m.
N42 Demo Center
Sponsored by WebPub
Overview: Neal Kane of Libretto Inc. will discuss the ups and downs of
writing for the web. Neal will share his experiences and give us some
pointers on the do's and don'ts of writing for the web. Libretto has
worked with many departments on campus to craft their messages for web
and print publications.
Writing Right for the Web (webinar)
Monday, March 30
1-2:30 p.m.
Building 3-133
Sponsored by Academic Impressions; hosted by PSB
Overview: Your website navigation is clear. Your content is on target
with what interests your audience. But your website still isn't
engaging your visitors in the way you'd like. If the writing style on
your site is not web friendly, your most important audiences may not
be receiving your messages.
Join us to explore the common pitfalls of web writing and how they can
derail your site's effectiveness. Throughout the program, examples
from higher education websites are used to highlight best practices
and demonstrate the value of a designated web editor to your online
marketing team. You will learn how to use web writing principles to
increase your site's effectiveness and search engine viability.
Presented by Robert E. Johnson, Ph.D., Bob Johnson Consulting.
