[ecco-support] [EXTERNAL] Stokes drift in ECCO2 product

Dear Maxime, Stokes drift is definitely not included in the ECCO2 simulation that you refer to below nor, as far as I know, in any existing ECCO simulation.

A possible, very indirect way, in which Stokes drift is included, is that the corrections applied to ECCO solutions in order to fit available observations may wrap a little bit of the consequences of Stoke’s drift in other terms, for example, surface wind stress.

Scripps is working on including WW3 in regional ECCO solutions. I cc Matt Mazloff, who may have more to say on this topic.

Best regards, Dimitris
