[ecco-support] ECCO and kalman filter

Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right for this but someone asked this:
"According to this page (https://reanalyses.org/ocean/overview-current-reanalyses) ECCO uses a Kalman filter + smoother.  "

Is this accurate? Are there people within the ecco consortium doing this? And if so, shouldn't the adjoint version appear too? Cheers, david
