2. Student Officer Leadership Summit Signups due FRIDAY (9/5/19)

3. Midway Wrap-Up

----------------------------------------------

(1) Fall LEF/ARCADE Applications due TODAY (9/1/2019)

The deadline to submit applications to the Large Event Fund (LEF) and the Assisting Recurring Cultural And Diversity Events (ARCADE) Fund Spring Cycle is TODAY, September 1st at 11:59PM EST. This deadline is for events occurring between October 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019.

Late applications will be accepted through September 8th at 11:59 PM EST, but there will be a fine deducted from each late submission.

Please use this link to apply: <https://engage.mit.edu/submitter/form/start/335389>. Do NOT use the old form (that operated through the ASA webpage.) We will ONLY be processing applications submitted through the Engage form linked above.

More information about eligibility for these funds is available online: <http://web.mit.edu/asa/resources/large-events.html>.

You are encouraged to meet with someone from the Student Activities Office to discuss your application, particularly if it is for a new event or you are making substantial changes to a recurring event. You MUST meet with the Student Activities Office to discuss an event if it will involve paying a speaker or performer. Email <sao-desk at mit.edu> with any questions!

(2) Student Officer Leadership Summit Signups due FRIDAY (9/5/19)

The following is a reminder about the announcement from the SAO about the upcoming Student Leadership Summit that was distributed to group executive leaders through an email from Engage. If you have questions on the summit or this announcement, please refer to the contact email listed below:

The Student Officer Leadership Summit, a required program for all ASA-recognized organizations and Club Sports, will provide necessary tools to help make student organizations at MIT more successful through immersive training. This prestigious summit, held on Saturday, September 21st from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM in the Stratton Student Center, includes a variety of workshops, impactful dialogues, and conversations with key leadership on campus. Come prepared to engage with fellow student leaders and to reflect on your role as a leader at MIT.

We are making this investment to help support MIT student organizations. Each organization is required to send one presidential-level member – or an executive board proxy. See you in September!

Register Here by Friday, September 6th at 11:59 PM: <https://engage.mit.edu/submitter/form/start/331857>

For questions, contact <studentleadership at mit.edu>

(3) Midway Wrap-Up

Thank you to the groups that participated in the Orientation Activities Midway on Friday! We had approximately 250 student groups present at the event, demonstrating the incredible variety in activities on campus and representing the best of MIT student culture to the first-year students. Thank you so much for taking the time to be part of this event and the work you put in!

Any group who showed up late, were not present at their booth, or violated any of our Midway regulations will receive notification of the penalty for their late arrival or absence in the next couple weeks. Groups with members who received an early return for the Midway and did not check in as instructed will also receive a notification of their penalty.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please feel free to email <asa-exec at mit.edu> with any requests, questions, or other inquiries.

Sincerely,

The ASA Executive Board
