----------------------------------------------

(1) Fall LEF/ARCADE Applications are OPEN (Due 9/1/2019)

The deadline to submit applications to the Large Event Fund (LEF) and the Assisting Recurring Cultural And Diversity Events (ARCADE) Fund Spring Cycle is Sunday, September 1st at 11:59PM EST. This deadline is for events occurring between October 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019.

Please use this link to apply: <https://engage.mit.edu/submitter/form/start/335389>. Do NOT use the old form (that operated through the ASA webpage.) We will ONLY be processing applications submitted through the Engage form linked above.

More information about eligibility for these funds is available online: <http://web.mit.edu/asa/resources/large-events.html>.

You are encouraged to meet with someone from the Student Activities Office to discuss your application, particularly if it is for a new event or you are making substantial changes to a recurring event. You MUST meet with the Student Activities Office to discuss an event if it will involve paying a speaker or performer. Email <sao-desk at mit.edu<mailto:sao-desk at mit.edu>> with any questions!

(2) Student Officer Leadership Summit signups

The following is an announcement from the SAO about the upcoming Student Leadership Summit that was distributed to group executive leaders through an email from Engage. If you have questions on the summit or this announcement, please refer to the contact email listed below:

The Student Officer Leadership Summit, a required program for all ASA-recognized organizations and Club Sports, will provide necessary tools to help make student organizations at MIT more successful through immersive training. This prestigious summit, held on Saturday, September 21st from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM in the Stratton Student Center, includes a variety of workshops, impactful dialogues, and conversations with key leadership on campus. Come prepared to engage with fellow student leaders and to reflect on your role as a leader at MIT.

We are making this investment to help support MIT student organizations. Each organization is required to send one presidential-level member – or an executive board proxy. See you in September!

Register Here by Friday, September 6th at 11:59 PM: <https://engage.mit.edu/submitter/form/start/331857>

For questions, contact <studentleadership at mit.edu<mailto:studentleadership at mit.edu>>

(3) Reminder: Fall Orientation Midway Applications close TOMORROW

This is a reminder to sign up for a space at the fall activities midway here: https://engage.mit.edu/submitter/form/start/323474 before midnight TOMORROW night (8/20/2019). This year's Fall Activities Midway will take place Friday August 30 from 14:30 to 16:30 ET in the Johnson Ice Rink.

For groups requesting music for performances, please be on the lookout for details and a link to upload music sometime in the week leading up to the midway. We'll send that out once we have the performance schedule.

For students with early returns for your group, you will need to check in with an ASA representative at the midway personally so we can confirm that you were there.

Please feel free to email <asa-exec at mit.edu<mailto:asa-exec at mit.edu>> with any requests, questions, or other inquiries.

Sincerely,
The ASA Executive Board
