Dear Student Group leaders,

Please take note of the following announcements:

1. Fall Orientation Midway Booth Assignments
2. We have a NEW ASA Website
3. Fall LEF/ARCADE Applications are OPEN (Due 9/1/2019)

(1) Fall Orientation Midway Booth Assignments

As a reminder, the Activities Midway will be held this Friday from 14:30 to 16:30 in Johnson Ice rink. Please show up no later than 14:00 and no earlier than 13:00 to sign in and set up. People with early returns for their group MUST check in at the ASA table personally so we can record that you are present.

For those of you who signed up for the ASA Midway, a preliminary map and booth list can be found here<https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SFV9IsxBED3SQalGBP40a4_Vpf-dcyvC/view?usp=sharing> and here<https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rnLM_ens_GA-C9vwLtE5QO7dTW_2W1le/view?usp=sharing> respectively. This may still be subject to change. If you believe you submitted an application and are not in the linked list please let us know ASAP.

Some of you have asked about late applications, we have a few tables left and we'll try to accommodate you, you may just wind up in a spot that isn't as close to similar groups. We will endeavor to have a final revised list of booth assignments sometime tomorrow evening.

(2) NEW ASA Website

The ASA is happy to announce the launch of a new and updated website! The site can still be found at asa.mit.edu<https://slack-redir.net/link?url=http%3A%2F%2Fasa.mit.edu>, but has gotten a much-needed facelift and old and outdated information has been removed. Please note that this means that any old links you have bookmarked or saved will no longer be valid: you will need to update that information with the new website’s URLs. We’re still working on removing the old website, which now resides at web.mit.edu/asa<https://slack-redir.net/link?url=http%3A%2F%2Fweb.mit.edu%2Fasa>, so do not use those pages for any information or links. Only pages found at the asa.mit.edu<https://slack-redir.net/link?url=http%3A%2F%2Fasa.mit.edu> domain are correct and up-to-date.

(3) Fall LEF/ARCADE Applications are OPEN (Due 9/1/2019)

The deadline to submit applications to the Large Event Fund (LEF) and the Assisting Recurring Cultural And Diversity Events (ARCADE) Fund Spring Cycle is Sunday, September 1st at 11:59PM EST. This deadline is for events occurring between October 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019.

Please use this link to apply: https://engage.mit.edu/submitter/form/start/335389. Do NOT use the old form (that operated through the ASA webpage.) We will ONLY be processing applications submitted through the Engage form linked above.

More information about eligibility for these funds is available online: http://asa.mit.edu/group-resources/funding-large-events

You are encouraged to meet with someone from the Student Activities Office to discuss your application, particularly if it is for a new event or you are making substantial changes to a recurring event. You MUST meet with the Student Activities Office to discuss an event if it will involve paying a speaker or performer. Email <sao-desk at mit.edu<mailto:sao-desk at mit.edu>> with any questions!

Best Regards,
Daniel Sheen
