Dear Student Group Officers:
Thank you for attending the General Body Meeting on Monday. As
promised, the slides from the meeting are on the web at
http://web.mit.edu/asa/about/minutes/GBMfa08.pdf, and the minutes are
available at http://web.mit.edu/asa/about/minutes/2008-11-17-gbm.txt.
In particular, we voted to approve a set of changes to the ASA
Operating Guidelines which would open up recognition to more student
groups by creating a new class of non-funded student but otherwise
official groups. You can read more about the approved proposal at
http://web.mit.edu/asa/privileges/GroupRecognition.pdf. Thank you for
all of your input during the meeting, and continue to voice your
feedback by talking to us or by e-mailing us at asa-exec at mit.edu.
We also elected two new members of the ASA Executive Board. Please
welcome Leonid Chindelevitch and Dylon Rockwell, who will serve as
Members-at-Large for the rest of the year.
Lastly, we have two announcements from CAC:
1. Events Fair: Mon. Nov 24 from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm in W11 (see first
forwarded message below)
2. Opening of the CAC reservation books (for events scheduled from
July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010) will take place on Monday, December 1,
2008 at 8 am (see second forwarded message below)
Sincerely,
The ASA Executive Board
