MIT Professional Education is proud to sponsor the 22nd annual performance
of the MIT Summer Philharmonic Orchestra (MITSPO). The annual classical
music concert, which is *open to the public and free for all to attend,*
returns to the MIT Kresge Auditorium in Cambridge on Friday, July 27, at
8:00 pm. Doors will open at 7:30 pm.

Led by Music Director and Conductor George Ogata, this year's theme is
“Weathering the Storm,” with arrangements chosen to reflect it. The
orchestra will perform Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, Pastoral, as
well as Igor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring.

MITSPO has been the preeminent summer community orchestra for more than
twenty years. Composed of emerging musicians from all throughout the
Greater Boston Area, MITSPO hosts one concert each summer, making it a
popular evening for music fans of all ages. The summer concerts
consistently fill up Kresge Auditorium, a 1,200-seat venue, with permanent
fans and new attendees each year. MIT Professional Education has been
associated with the all-volunteer orchestra since its inception.

Ever find yourself spending hours deciding what to wear for a conference or
networking event? Figuring out how to dress professionally and
appropriately in graduate school, for conferences, or as you transition out
of graduate school can be tough. Join us for an evening with Bernadett
Vajda: model, political activist, motivational speaker and personal stylist.

Bernadett began her career in politics, but has transitioned into a very
meaningful career by combining her personal flare, fashion expertise and
love of helping people put their best foot forward. Now a model in New
York, Bernadett uses her unique experiences to help women discover their
personal style and express themselves in fresh and appropriate ways. The
evening will consist of a short presentation from Bernadett, followed by
group Q & A and then a dinner where participants will be able to ask
Bernadett for personal recommendations in smaller groups. This event is
hosted by the Graduate Community Fellows for Women's Programs.

You will be able to submit specific questions you have for Bernadett and we
will select from these questions for the Q & A session.
