*1. GW at MIT Running Group: Saturday Run & Coffee!*

Join GWAMIT for a lovely Saturday morning run along the Charles! We will
run approximately 3-4 miles and will make sure to run in groups or pairs to
accommodate all levels. Meet at the Alchemist Statue on Mass Ave (outside
the student center) for a quick stretch, please don’t be more than 5
minutes late! We will have a coffee in Flour after we finish.

Coffee courtesy of GWAMIT your first 3 times and get a free GWAMIT workout
tank in your 5th time!

Come join us at this year's New England Graduate Women in Science and
Engineering (NE GWiSE) Retreat - a day of collaborating and connecting
graduate women from different universities to make NE GWiSE an organization
that can effectively address the issues we face and create change within
our community.

The theme for this year's retreat is *Navigating Power Dynamics and
Building Confident Mentalities,* including workshops on implicit bias,
boosting confidence, conflict management with an advisor/supervisor, etc.

We are thrilled to announce our Keynote Speaker: *Professor Sara Seager*,
an astrophysicist and planetary scientist at MIT!

*Note:* Light breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided throughout the
event. Empowerment is our goal; dress in what makes you feel confident.

Take a break from work and the summer heat by joining MASS AWIS for a
family-friendly evening of candlepin bowling. Pizza, shoes, and lanes will
be provided!

All proceeds* from this event will go toward the MASS AWIS Scholarship Fund.
*Online donation to the Scholarship Fund during registration is encouraged.

Come learn some ballroom dancing this summer during our social series of
classes! No experience or partner needed!

We will be teaching five different dances throughout the month of August.
Come for one or both classes each week - the second class will include some
review of the first class, and will introduce some new figures.

      Week 1: Tuesday 7/31 & Thursday 8/2 – Learn the cheerful *Samba*!
      Week 2: Tuesday 8/7 & Thursday 8/9 – Learn the elegant *Waltz*!
      Week 3: Monday 8/13 & Tuesday 8/14 – Learn the sassy *Chacha*!
      Week 4: Monday 8/20 & Thursday 8/23 – Learn the sultry *Tango*!
      Week 5: Monday 8/27 & Tuesday 8/28 – Learn the festive *Mambo*!

All classes are from 7-8pm in the multipurpose room of SidPac. The event is
free and open to MIT students – please be prepared to show student ID.

Do you struggle with organizing your research data? Wonder if there’s a
better way to arrange and name your data files to optimize your work? This
workshop will teach you practical techniques for organizing your data
files. Topics will include: file and folder organizational structures and
file naming. Will include hands-on exercises to apply the concepts to your
particular data project.
