Hello Lukas,

Can you please provide more details about how you tried to download? Are you trying to download V4r4 files? Did you use the Jupyter notebook https://github.com/ECCO-GROUP/ECCO-ACCESS/blob/master/PODAAC/Downloading_ECCO_datasets_from_PODAAC/Tutorial_Python3_Jupyter_Notebook_Downloading_ECCO_Datasets_from_PODAAC.ipynb? If so, where in the notebook the error was raised?

Thank you.

Best,
Ou Wang

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [ecco-support] Error "HTTP Basic: Access denied" when downloading ECCO data sets
Dear ECCO support team,

I am sorry if this message is posted to a wrong place and/or wrong audience.

My name is Lukas and I am a graduate student at the University of
Hamburg, Germany. I am working on the Indian Ocean and its heat budget
throughout the last decades in particular. I wanted to incorporate the
ECCO estimates into my analysis but until now I am facing an error when
trying to download the desired data sets from the repository.

I followed the step-by-step instruction provided on GitHub but wasn't
able to successfully download any data set until now. Everytime, the
raised error is saying "HTTP Basic: Access denied". I double-checked my
registration with NASA Earthdata to confirm that I own a valid account
but still raised the above error.

I would be so glad if you could help my out with this issue and tell me
where I am going wrong at the moment. I am so curious to work with ECCO
data sets and add the outcome to my analysis.

Thank you so much in advance.

Kind regards,
Lukas Fiedler
