Hi Winpartners,
We are meeting next Monday 02-26-06 at 12 PM in N42 Demo Center.
Agenda for the meeting:
- Vista earlier adopters experience at MIT (we are in phase 3 of Vista
release project now). Please come to the meeting with a list of items which
you find to be most pressing at this stage; what do you think went right and
wrong with this earlier release? I propose that we have a little Vista
community forum.
- Updates on the current status of the project; applications compatibility;
activation issues; what is coming
- Microsoft offered us two on-site classes please review their description
before the meeting and let me know if you are interested to participate in
any of them (see the attachment as well):
1) DDPF (Desktop Deployment Planning Funds) are used for a partner-delivered
deployment training and planning. This program has been designed to provide
mutual benefit to partners, customers, and Microsoft by introducing
customers to processes, tools, and qualified service providers (partners)
and to help move them toward realizing the benefits of a more efficient
infrastructure by deploying Windows Vista and Office 2007 to their desktops.
These are Funded By the BMO and Delivered by partners that are part of the
DDPS program. The 3 day engagement is well defined so there is not
flexibility on how these funds can be leveraged.
Designed to provide key customers (identified by field and/or partners) with
a deployment plan to drive Deployment leveraging the Desktop Deployment
Solution Accelerator methodology. The customer will receive knowledge
transfer on our current tools and methodologies, initial guidance around
desktop deployment and a high level project plan from the partner.
2) free onsite class related to the Microsoft Application Compatibility
Toolkit.
This is 400 level technical training focused on enterprise tools for
inventory and management of application compatibility including
troubleshooting running applications as a standard user, testing with IE7,
and determining how applications will work with Vista. The intended
audience is 10-15 IT professionals with experience in desktop management.
There is no cost for the training or for the ACT tool, although in a large
environment it would leverage SQL to store data. The ACT team covers T&E
for the instructor. The customer only needs to provide a classroom and each
attendee should plan to bring a machine running Vista.
Let me know if you want to add anything else to the agenda.
Thank you,
Alexander Kozlov
