[WinPartners] update 917422 and after (XP)

Update 917422  (Aug 24) seems to have failed.  Other subsequent 
updates seem to have messed up as well.

I *thought* I had (moments ago installed this 917422 update manually, 
but the install history still shows "failed".

So, there are a whole bunch of updates which have not "taken".  Is 
this restore point time?
