[WinPartners] SAPgui 6.20 fresh install problem...

Never mind. Figured it out.
It turns out that the SAP installer searches *all* mounted volumes (at least
local ones, I'm guessing). In this case, the previous OS install partition was
mounted locally under another drive letter (for data migration) and that had
SAP installed on it. This was the trip up. The installer wasn't smart enough to
compare with the active Registry and figure out just the presence of the
binaries without the matching keys could be just stale files left over from
before or in a backup as in this instance.
The lack of any reference to the other instance that was found was very
puzzling. Installing Ad-aware gave me the clue...and unlike the SAP installer,
it actually told me _where it found the supposedly existing previous instance
of itself_. I can imagine spending much longer to debug otherwise.
