[WinPartners] IBM ThinkPad dock/port replicator question...

I'm trying to find out if the new IBM X40 and/or X41 series ThinkPads are
backwards compatible with existing IBM ThinkPad docks/port replicators.

There is a page at IBM which would otherwise properly answer this, but it is out
of date. Not only that, it has conflicting information. For example, it
explicitly says that "The ThinkPad Dock and ThinkPad Dock II are not supported
with the following: [...] o ThinkPad X** systems" yet it then goes on to list
ThinkPad X2* and X3* series systems as compatible. The page is at

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-4NXNTP

Further Google'ing doesn't find me much more. Before I vanish in the land of
phone trees, does anyone here own an X40/X41 series and have experience with
their docks, particularly using them with the older

Also, I thought there used to be an IBM contact (a la the Dell) one for MIT in
the past to escalate questions like this. Anyone know if this is still the case
and how I can find them? Do we get educational pricing from IBM like from Dell
(ECAT doesn't seem to have a link to them)?

TIA,
-Kerem
