Hi,
I did hear reports of problems with early betas. Unfortunately we did not do
much testing with the final beta within the Software Development and
Integration Team.
Since the release I have one report of cross realm authentication failing
when using RDP at MIT. We are still looking into this. I'm still installing
the service pack on one of my test servers at this time.
On an external mailing list I have seen a recommendation to not install this
service pack on a Windows Small Business Server. However SP1 for SBS is
expected to be released in the next 60 days.
Here is a quick list of the known issue when Windows Server 2003 SP1 is
installed on Windows Small Business Server (SBS):
- Remote Access Wizard hangs when creating the connection manager package
- Small Business Server Change IP tool will fail
o Change IP tool will continue to fail after un-install of WS SP1
o Workaround: Remove WS SP1, disable DHCP, re-run CEICW
- Power Users retain SharePoint Administration privileges even after the
role is changed to Reader
- Re-Install of Exchange fails
- Re-Install of Intranet component fails
- Fax Services won't start and the Fax Configuration Wizard cannot be run
after un-installing Windows Server SP1
- DHCP service may not start after a restore
As always, with such a major change you should proceed with caution. I
recommend installation in a test environment before upgrading a production
system, at least until more experience has been gained by the system
administrator community.

Hi,
SP1 for Windows Server 2003 was just released. Has anyone had any
experience with the beta? Anything bad to say about it?
