[WinPartners] anyone know about AVG Antivirus?

Does anyone have any experience with AVG Anti-Virus software?  And more 
specifically the free edition?

Are there any free antivirus software that you would recommend, if not 
AVG?  If it's the case that 'you get what you pay for' and you don't 
recommend any of the free altiernatives, is Norton Antivirus still the 
recommended solution?

I'm trying to help someone who is not part of MIT, so the VirusScan 
software we have a license for here  is not an option.
