[WinPartners] Oracle Connector for Outlook Demos and Clinics

Good Afternoon,

IS&T plans to release the Oracle Connector for Outlook (OCFO) this afternoon. OCFO enables clients to access and manage their TechTime calendars through the Microsoft Outlook interface.

This week, IS&T will host demos to show the full range of functionality OCFO provides and hands-on clinics to assist laptop users in installing OCFO properly on their laptops. Because of the complex nature of the product and its installation process, the OCFO release team strongly recommends that users planning to install OCFO attend a demo and clinic.

The demos and clinics will cover:
-installing OCFO
-importing data from outlook (notes, calendar, tasks)
-search folders
-differences in functionality between Outlook IMAP and OCFO

The schedule for the demos and clinics is:

12/20: 10-11:30: N42-Demo Center (DEMO)
12/21: 2:30-4:30: Bush Room, Lobby 10 (CLINIC AND DEMO)
12/22: 10-11:30: N42 Demo Center (CLINIC)

In order to be as efficient as effective as possible, clients should perform the following tasks -before- the clinic:

-obtain valid personal certificates (https://ca.mit.edu/ & http://web.mit.edu/is/topics/certificates/)
-register their laptop and wireless card for DHCP
(http://web.mit.edu/ist/services/network/dhcp/dhcp.html)
-completely uninstall OCFO from their computers if they installed it but failed to get it working properly
-activate their TechTime account (http://calendar.mit.edu/register)
-ensure that they have a fully functional installation of Microsoft Outlook Professional 2003

If you want to attend a demo or clinic but are unable to do so this week, do not worry! IS&T will host demos and clinics for OCFO throughout IAP. We will send out more information about these demos and clinics once the schedule is finalized.
