We've been experiencing some cases here (Win2K Pro only so far) where the user profile becomes corrupt [i.e., applications crash upon launch] after the installation of the Outlook patch {Cumulative Security Update for Outlook Express 6 Service Pack 1 (KB837009)}.  

I also saw a post on Slashdot that "MS04-011 - Security Update for Microsoft Windows (835732)" caused 99% CPU utilization for one user and Terminal Services was killed by another {we've not encountered either of those problems}.  A handful of similar reports to ours were posted on 'microsoft.public.win2000.windows_update' and 'microsoft.public.windowsupdate'.

Has anyone else on campus experienced (or heard of ) any similar/other problems?

Things like this are the very reason why we don't currently use Automatic Updates [though we're considering SUS in the future].
