Hi Dave:

As a first step I would recommend downloading /running a  program to 
detect/remove "spyware" (advertiser tracking components) from the PC. Ad 
Aware is a good one.   http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/

This should get rid of the most -- if not all -- pop ups.  [Tip:  Run Ad 
Aware regularly to keep your PC spyware free.]

You can also download/install a pop up blocker from http://www.download.com 
-- just type pop up in the download.com search engine.
