Hello MIT WebPub,

Next week, on Wednesday, April 13th from 3:30p to 5pm, Neil Patch and Vittorio Bucchieri from Harvard’s Teaching & Learning Technologies (TLT) will present:

User Experience Principles
—————————————
TLT User Experience is based on the principle of engaging Harvard’s local academic support staff, faculty and students to enhance their use of Canvas, the University’s Learning Management System.
At TLT, we believe that end-users are critical to the assessment, problem solving, design and improvement of Harvard University products.
User experience principles are practiced among the entire TLT team, as individuals with different roles collaborate to address user needs.

Neil Patch is a Business Analyst at Harvard’s Teaching & Learning Technologies (TLT) program where he works with teams at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Harvard Medical School, and Harvard Law School. Neil has contributed to the program’s strategy for developing, supporting, and evaluating pilots of innovative digital teaching and learning tools, and is leading TLT’s preparation for the release of Canvas’ new UI update.”

Vittorio Bucchieri begun his exciting journey in user experience the day that he encountered a challenge apparently insurmountable: allowing blind users to enjoy the user interfaces he designed. After registering a few patents on accessible technology, and finally becoming acquainted with blind, Deaf users, and people with other special needs, Vittorio completely shifted his focus on user experience, and never looked back.
Vittorio’s real passion is education and his professional life took a turn for the best when in April 2015 he finally joined Harvard University, and specifically The Teaching and Learning Technology group.
Vittorio doesn’t quite like to write self biographies, so you’ll have to check his profile on LinkedIn to learn more, or he’ll be happy to meet you in person at the next ABCD event. You may also bump into him as he walks between schools interviewing candidates on user testing sessions, another thing that keeps him smiling.

NOTE: For attendees without a Harvard ID, please RSVP.
