I suppose I should have offered a little more of an introduction here--
I'm a web developer and designer in Resource Development, having joined MIT back in May of last year. Hi!
Sass is a CSS "pre-processor" -- it resembles CSS, but is compiled before being sent to the browser, and offers much more than CSS currently can. Imagine being able to use variables, functions, loops, etc. inside of CSS. These are the kinds of things that Sass allows you to do.
Glad to have gotten such a positive response so far!
