Hello MIT WebPub,

Please join us Wednesday, February 12th at Lamont Library where Harvard CTO Jim Waldo will present “Why We're Important Again.”

Education as a data-driven science? A learning platform as a scientific instrument? Integrating rich learning applications (LTI<http://www.imsglobal.org/toolsinteroperability2.cfm>)? Creating a Learning Management Ecosystem<http://lme.harvard.edu/> at Harvard (and beyond)?

Jim has purposely kept the topic of this coming ABCD WWW meeting vague. However, the title, "Why We're Important Again" is official. Please join us to hear what is sure to be an important talk.

(We're tempted to guess that the presentation has to do with Sailing on the Black Pearl<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Pearl> … the other Black Pearl<http://lme.harvard.edu/faq/what-black-pearl>.)

Jim Waldo holds dual roles as Harvard's CTO and the Gordon McKay Professor of the Practice of Computer Science in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

NOTE: Attendees without a Harvard ID card need to RSVP for entry to the library.

When: Wednesday, February 12th from 3:30-5:00pm
Title: Why We're Important Again<http://w3.abcd.harvard.edu/ai1ec_event/jim-waldo/>
Who: Jim Waldo<http://www.eecs.harvard.edu/%7Ewaldo/>
Where: Lamont Library, Forum Room, 11 Quincy Street, Cambridge, MA 02138

Thanks!

Donna, Eric and Raman
