Job Description

The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) is seeking candidates for a New Media Associate position in its Communications and Industry Affairs department. Responsibilities include: utilizing digital media channels to advance the association’s mission, preparing and issuing news releases, creating and maintaining media lists, monitoring news coverage, coordinating promotional events, and assisting in overall department administration.

ESA is the U.S. association dedicated to serving the business and public affairs needs of companies publishing interactive games for video game consoles, handheld devices, personal computers, and the Internet. We offer great benefits, a competitive package and collegial work environment.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications: a Bachelor's degree, proven experience (1-2 years) in Communications, Public Relations and/or Public Affairs, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as new media properties (Twitter, Reddit, etc). The ideal candidate must possess excellent communications and organizational skills, pleasant phone manner, strong editing and proofing skills, and the ability to prioritize and function efficiently in a fast-paced environment. A professional demeanor and the ability to interact comfortably with individuals at all levels of business are also essential.
