Hello WebPub,

Thanks for the turnout, we had 25+ MIT¹ers for the talk look forward to
your next one so we can make it over to Kendall!

Recap for event:
³Creating Beautiful Type (On the Web)²

Kyle Fiedler, a graphic designer from ThoughtBot (http://thoughtbot.com/)
presented to the Harvard Web Working Group (HarvardWWW) on proper typography
on the web. The event was held in the Lamont Library Forum Room and we had a
great turnout of approx 50-60 Harvard & MIT attendees. The talk was very
helpful because it gave departments advice on how to tangibly go about using
professional fonts on the web and also how to make sure they have the proper
software licensing for any typeface.

Slides for the talk are located on our slideshare account:

Prototyping : Helping to take the suck away.

Are your projects going straight from PSDs to Production Code only to
find out they suck? Protoyping can help take that suck away. By building
early and often you'll discover what ideas are working and which ones
are getting tossed. You don't need a big budget, dedicated team or a
massive timeline to prototype; you can do it quick, dirty and cheap.
I'll be discussing the benefits of prototyping, the process, how to get
your company on board, debunking some prototyping myths, and
demonstrating some techniques using CSS3 and jQuery.

Mike Kivikoski is a Principal of Atedrake, a small web design +
development boutique located just north of Boston, and holds a BFA in
Visual Communication from Endicott College. He has been writing HTML
since he was 12 and has a strong focus on making web stuff awesome. He
was even involved in the prototyping of the registration form on
https://register.barackobama.com/. Some of his favorite pastimes include
growing facial hair, twitter (@mkivikoski), and meeting new people.

See you then!
