for a Webmaster to develop, implement, and maintain the web presence  
of MIT's 150 anniversary.  This is a benefited temporary position due  
to run into early July 2011.  If you know of anyone who might be

WEBMASTER, MIT150, Office of the Vice President for Institute Affairs,  
to develop, implement, and maintain the web presence of MIT's 150th  
anniversary. Will manage the MIT150 website and all new web-based  
services and initiatives; facilitate and advance site development  
using approved design and content guidelines and ensure site  
maintenance and consistency; oversee the day-to- day needs of the site  
and develop site plans, schedules, and documentation; provide status  
reports; propose and develop new directions and strategies; build  
technical relationship with the websites of other MIT150 programs;  
develop content, maintain site architecture, review/approve concepts,  
and coordinate and edit content; develop and implement a site  
maintenance plan and schedule to ensure updated content, links, etc.;  
manage web outreach efforts via social networking; and oversee the  
proper formatting of compressed video files for delivery.

REQUIREMENTS: a bachelor's degree and at least five years' technical,  
project management, and web development experience. Content management  
experience in Drupal and experience preparing photos and graphics for  
the web using Adobe Photoshop essential. Work experience in higher  
education or other nonprofit organization desirable. Superior writing  
skills and the ability to manage and prioritize numerous tasks  
required, as are sensitivity to nuance and protocol and the ability to  
collaborate and influence diplomatically where no formal reporting  
structure exists. Experience with HTML, FileMaker, Word, Excel, Adobe  
Acrobat, InDesign or Quark, and compressed video file formats such as  
Flash required. MIT-00006765-O

Some late night work and weekend work will be required.
