Are you designing Web pages and wish you knew a bit more about Web
design
and, in particular, wish you had a little help in how to make those Web
pages accessible to users with disabilities and also to be able to judge
just how accessible or inaccessible your Web pages are?

EASI's October online course, Barrier-free Web Design, can help:
http://easi.cc/workshops/easiweb.htm

The course is online in a Blackboard system and can be accessed at any
time
from anywhere. It is scheduled to run for 4 weeks starting on October
6. There are 10 lessons. You will submit assignments on each lesson to
the instructor, Marisol Miranda. Marisol will be available at any
time in
email to deal with your questions, problems or interests that the course
may not cover.
EASI courses are $350 each or $280 for people from overseas or for
people
who have an Annual EASI Webinar Membership. Registration and syllabus
are
online at:
http://easi.cc/workshops/easiweb.htm

Oh, you should also know that anyone completing 5 of EASI's online
courses
will earn the Certificate in Accessible Information Technology provided
jointly by EASI and the University of Southern Maine.

People who never dreamed of designing Web pages either are venturing
forth
into the Web or their job description has changed to include learning
a new
skill!

The ten lessons are:

Lesson 1: Introduction and General Overview
Lesson 2: Web Accessibility Guidelines and Section 508 Standards
Lesson 3: Evaluating Webpages for Accessibility/Useability
Lesson 4: Introduction to WYSIWYG Authoring
Lesson 5: Page Navigation and Organization
Lesson 6: The Use of ALT Tags with Images and Imagemaps
Lesson 7: Frames and Forms
Lesson 8: Simple and Complex Tables
Lesson 9: Streaming Audio and Video
Lesson 10: The Document Object Model (DOM)

Full syllabus and registration can be reached from the EASI site and
