SENIOR DIGITAL STRATEGIST, MIT Home Page-News Office, to provide a 
strong vision and leadership voice in defining digital strategies, 
tactics, and technologies that further the Institute's position as a 
world-class university. Will direct the continuous innovation of MIT's 
top-level web sites and develop and manage a long-term strategy for the 
community, technology, and infrastructure of the Institute's digital 
projects; work with the executive director and senior administration to 
develop strategic plans that further MIT's communications initiatives; 
demonstrate enthusiasm for new technologies and how best to leverage 
them for an educational environment; serve as a liaison between 
technical and communications professionals and create strong 
partnerships with IS&T; develop and implement a video production and 
distribution strategy for MIT News; participate in emergency 
communications planning and respond with online communications in 
emergencies; and share responsibility for successfully publishing the 
MIT home page seven days a week.

REQUIREMENTS: a minimum of seven years' professional experience managing 
a large, complex web site and analyst strategy experience in consumer 
interactive technologies. Must possess in-depth knowledge of and 
demonstrated passion for discovering new technologies; the ability to 
build consensus between communications and technology professionals; and 
success developing web strategies that enhance external and internal 
communication. Experience with project management tools and methods 
needed. Knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript and PHP and Python or Perl 
required; as is knowledge of or willingness to learn UNIX and XML. 
Should exhibit superior oral and written communication skills, excellent 
organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines while managing 
multiple projects. Higher education or nonprofit experience a plus.
