Web Analytics
This month’s webpub meeting focused on web analytics - how people
track visitors to their websites. We reviewed MIT’s Hit Counter and
three commercial products (CrazyEgg.com and WebSideStory.com’s Hitbox
Professional, and Google Analytics).

Cecilia presented on how to use the MIT Counter Code to pull traffic
data from the Data Warehouse (download her ppt slides). Sean reviewed
the commercial products (email Sean for his presentation, it was too
large to post here)

Position is everything
I just learned about a site called Position Is Everything that is a
really great resource for learning how to fix common CSS bugs in most
commonly used browsers. From the authors themselves:
We’re Big John and Holly Bergevin, and together we built this site to
explain some obtuse CSS bugs in modern browsers, provide demo
examples of interesting CSS behaviors, and show how to “make it work”
without using tables for layout purposes
