Department of Performing Arts/Emerson Stage at Emerson College seeks temporary, full-time help to support the Scene Shop, Technical Director, Master Carpenter and student staff for the spring season.  May be required to assist/support other areas (props, paints, etc.).

 o   Dates: Mid/late-January -April 17, 2016, up to 35 hrs/week

o   Skills required: basic welding, strong building skills, crew supervision for load-in, tech, load-out, all performed with the highest safety standards and practices.  Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, work independently, read and interpret build plans, climb a ladder to 25 feet, lift objects up to 50 pounds, valid driver's license. Ability to maintain shop housekeeping and communicate effectively.

o   Skills preferred: drafting, rigging, advanced welding, and automation; prior experience in a supervisory capacity in a theater or performing arts environment; previous experience working in a college setting with students. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

o   Schedule: Mon, Weds, Fri: 12pm-6pm, Tues, Thurs: 10am-6pm; during load-ins: 12noon-8pm, with one hour for lunch; other night/weekend hours possible.

o   Pay rate: $23-$25/hr depending on experience level and skills.
