SCENIC STUDIO MANAGER
TCU Department of Theatre invites applications for a Theatre Scenic
Studio Manager. Appointment begins August 15, 2006. This is a
nine-month staff position with no regular teaching responsibilities.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in theatre strongly preferred; at
least two years experience in carpentry and scene painting preferred;
demonstrated knowledge of drafting, mechanics and construction
techniques for the theatre. Duties will include reporting to the
Technical Director and working closely with the theatre faculty and
students on all technical theatre components for an annual academic year
schedule of 6 theatre productions; maintenance of three theatres, the
scenery studio and sound equipment; scenery construction, installation
and rigging; production scheduling and budgeting; supervision of student
shop employees; attending all required technical rehearsals, meetings,
strikes; demonstrated collegiality and ability/willingness to
collaborate effectively with colleagues and mentor undergraduate
students. Salary is competitive; benefits available. Review of
