invites applications for a <b><span style='font-weight:bold'>Theatre Scenic
Studio Manager</span></b>. Appointment begins August 15, 2006. This is a nine-month staff position with no regular teaching responsibilities. <b><span
style='font-weight:bold'>Qualifications:</span></b> Bachelor’s degree in
theatre strongly preferred; at least two years experience in carpentry and
scene painting preferred; demonstrated knowledge of drafting, mechanics and
construction techniques for the theatre. <b><span style='font-weight:
bold'>Duties</span></b> will include reporting to the Technical Director and
working closely with the theatre faculty and students on all technical theatre
components for an annual academic year schedule of 6 theatre productions;
maintenance of three theatres, the scenery studio and sound equipment; scenery
construction, installation and rigging; production scheduling and budgeting;
supervision of student shop employees; attending all required technical
rehearsals, meetings, strikes; demonstrated collegiality and
ability/willingness to collaborate effectively with colleagues and mentor
undergraduate students. Salary is competitive; benefits available.
