[Unix-help] Need Help in compressing large files

This is probably a limitation of the operating system, not the compress
program. Older Linux kernels had a maximum file size of 2GB, make sure
your linux kernel has large file system support (LFS). I believe LFS is
incorporated into all Linux kernels 2.4+.
