TLDR: Post-Election Town Hall + Resources


Hi everyone,



We know that this election has elicited a wide range of emotions, regardless of where you stand politically. However you may feel, we want you to know that we hear you and we support you. It is important now more than ever to join together as a community and support one another. Our greatest strength has always been our collective ability to see past our differences and care for each other as people first.  



To that end: We, the Undergraduate Association, invite everyone to a Town Hall tomorrow (Nov 7th) at 6pm to offer comfort and provide a space to share your thoughts and concerns. This will be a casual but supportive environment focused on you and your values. Please feel free to stop in for a few minutes or the entire time and enjoy some food. We are still finalizing the location of the event, which will be provided in an Instagram post (@mitundergrad) as soon as it is determined. 



Beyond the Town Hall, please utilize these additional resources:

    •    S^3 has increased staffing and availability for drop-in hours. Connecting with a dean can help you process thoughts and emotions about the election, and receive any additional support neededed.
•    The Office of Religious, Spiritual, and Ethical Life (ORSEL) is hosting a time for reflection in the MIT Chapel today at 12:10 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.
    •    The Office of Support, Wellbeing, and Belonging will be in Lobby 10 this Thursday, November 7, to offer relaxing activities and snacks for you all.

If there’s anything we can do to support you beyond the Town Hall, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here for you and ready to listen. We understand how challenging this time can be, and it is also a challenging time for many of us.

We look forward to talking with you soon. We’re all in this together, and we should never lose sight of our commitment to one another.
