TLDR: Canes, Travel Grants, and Participatory Budgeting, oh my! Free Canes and Boba in the UA Chambers Friday at 3:30; Travel Grants<https://ua.mit.edu/financial-board> are back and better than ever; Participatory Budgeting voting<https://mit.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5hWVtVNcf8EFmd0> is now live!

Howdy y'all, have we got a treat for you!

As I mentioned earlier, we're always looking for more ways to improve student life. To that end, we'll be hosting our quarterly F^3 (Free Food Friday) in Stud 4 at 3:30. We know midterm season is wrapping up and wanted to do something fun to boost morale. So stop by, say hi, and tell us what's on your mind as we wrap up the week and coast into Parent's Weekend with free boba and Canes.

Participatory Budgeting

Thank you all for submitting ideas for the Fall cycle of UA Participatory Budgeting! We're excited to announce that 9 submissions made it forward to the voting round. Listed below, in no particular order, are your finalist:

  1. Waffle Wednesdays
  2. Free Stamps and Envelopes
  3. Free Menstrual Products for Undergraduates
  4. Exploding Kittens for All Living Groups
  5. MIT Poster Archive
  6. The Newspaper Project
  7. Goat Petting Zoo aka Project GOAT
  8. Bouncy House Extravaganza
  9. Undergraduate Swings

Voting will be open for the next 2 weeks. Visit here<https://mit.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5hWVtVNcf8EFmd0> to cast your vote or see the UA website for more information on each proposal. We're allocating up to 25k, so choose wisely!

UA Travel Grants

As a part of the UA’s ongoing desire to support the MIT undergraduate community, we're pleased to offer MIT undergraduates the opportunity to apply for the UA Travel Grant.

This grant is oriented toward funding individual students up to $1,000 to attend professional or academic conferences that will enhance students’ undergraduate experience beyond MIT’s campus. Groups are ineligible for Travel Grants. Detailed information about the Travel Grant can be found here<https://ua.mit.edu/financial-board>.

Keep in mind that these grants are for individual students, so groups/clubs and organizations will not qualify…

On the Horizon

As we near the halfway point of the semester, start thinking about which professors you'd want to get lunch with. We'll be opening our F^2 (Faculty and Food) program shortly which will give you all a chance to get food with faculty on us. We'll be sending out more information in the coming weeks.

As always, thank you for your trust and partnership. Let's dare to dream big and accomplish great things together.

Love you all,
