The UA Student Support & Wellbeing Committee is so excited to announce our event “Let’s Talk Periods” in partnership with the company Our Kaia<https://us16.mailchimp.com/mctx/clicks?url=https%3A%2F%2Fourkaia.com%2F&xid=c2e242e32f&uid=81007902&iid=af3ac4a460&pool=cts&v=2&c=1678291793&h=e65b792cdd534ad07cd627bcc625a12ee007c759ccceb09f77ea68ba1bd97b10> and MIT Women & Gender Studies<https://us16.mailchimp.com/mctx/clicks?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwgs.mit.edu%2F&xid=c2e242e32f&uid=81007902&iid=af3ac4a460&pool=cts&v=2&c=1678291793&h=e23c313ea85704df69670fd8b61fc8a3054dd7da62ed103a2f5bb6570a5a79f1>. Our subcommittee on Menstrual Health has put together this event to:

  1.  Raise awareness for period wellbeing & reduce the stigma around menstruation.

  2.  Showcase an amazing MIT student-run start-up Our Kaia<https://us16.mailchimp.com/mctx/clicks?url=https%3A%2F%2Fourkaia.com%2F&xid=c2e242e32f&uid=81007902&iid=af3ac4a460&pool=cts&v=2&c=1678291793&h=e65b792cdd534ad07cd627bcc625a12ee007c759ccceb09f77ea68ba1bd97b10> and their product “Dot.”, a novel new menstrual pain relief product.

  3.  Raffle off high-quality menstrual products. All proceeds will go to The Pad Project<https://us16.mailchimp.com/mctx/clicks?url=https%3A%2F%2Fthepadproject.org%2F&xid=c2e242e32f&uid=81007902&iid=af3ac4a460&pool=cts&v=2&c=1678291793&h=a07bf4febc807ea54c692bb1b5ffc855d0ac93918b529e88325b67b2ffb6b381>, an organization whose goal is universal menstrual equity.

  4.  Discuss resources & product access on campus.

“Let’s Talk Periods” will be held in the Cheney Room (3-308) on Monday, March 13 from 7-9PM. This event is open to all–feel free to stay or just drop in! Complimentary snacks will be provided, and raffle tickets will be sold for $2 each.

We will be starting off the event by showing the short film “Period. End of Sentence” by The Pad Project, an Academy Award-winning documentary on menstruators’ revolution against period stigma in rural India. This will lead into a presentation on menstrual wellbeing tips by Our Kaia co-founder and staff. Finally, the event will conclude with the raffle. Stop by to join any or all of these activities.
