Hi Undergraduates!

I hope you have been enjoying your apple-picking weekends as we enter spooky 👻 season. While I don't have any tricks 🎃 to announce, I am delighted to share a real treat 🍭 with y'all!

Today — Thursday, October 27 — 3:30-5:30pm on Hockfield Court you are invited to welcome President-elect Sally Kornbluth.

You may be asking: David, why would I want to meet with admin 🙄? Well fellow undergrad, it is not every day that we get a new president. In fact, Dr. Kornbluth will only be the 18th president in MIT's history and the 2nd female president.

As a member of the Student Advisory Committee to the Presidential Search Committee<https://presidentialsearch.mit.edu/search-committee>, I have come to realize the sheer influence a college president 🏫 can have. The MIT President plays a pivotal role in shaping the values and priorities of our Institute. Whether it is academics 📚 or student life 🍽, the MIT President plays a role in so many issues. Tomorrow, I encourage you to share with Dr. Kornbluth what your top priority for her administration should be.

I am making it a priority of my UA administration to make known undergrads' thoughts, feelings, and priorities for our new president, so I hope you join me in welcoming Dr. Kornbluth tomorrow 🤝.
